In one research study, participants were asked to give a stressful speech to a particularly unforgiving audience. Researchers measured the participants’ blood pressure and levels of stress hormones directly before and after giving their speech. The subjects who had sex within the 2 weeks prior to the experiment showed markedly lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels compared to the other participants who had not had sex in the 2 weeks prior to the experiment.

In a British study, it was suggested that men who had sex at least twice a month lived longer than those men who had sex less than once a month. Similar findings were reported in a U.S. study as well.

In a separate British study, people who had sex twice a week or more were found to be much less likely to suffer a heart attack or other fatal coronary events. Those who had sex less than once a month had an incredible 2 times the rate of fatal coronary events.
