United States health insurance companies are increasing premiums by an average of 20 percent for those between the ages of 18 and 64 who purchase their own medical plans, according to a recent nonprofit health care group’s study. The rate hikes affected over three-quarters of the 14 million individuals who purchase their own health insurance plans.

There has been a lot of talk about the workout program called P90x. You’ve probably seen the ads for this program on T.V. and all over the internet. Like anything that generates this amount of buzz comes hype, rumors, and misconceptions. This should not take a way form the legitimacy of something that has proven results in getting people in the best shape of their life.

Obviously diet and good exercise are critical to getting fit, but a lot of times people run into walls when actively exercising and dieting and never quite get the body they want. Everyone seems to have their own opinion on what exercises to do and what foods to eat, but this program has a unique patented system known as muscle confusion. This system is designed to never let the body get used to certain workouts, preventing users from hitting those walls. The muscle confusion system works to always have one’s muscles developing in different ways increasing mass and definition in short periods of time.

The best part about all of this: it only takes 90 days.

This isn’t your typical video workout; it’s a completely unique way to work the body. The workout is broken down in to 12 planned workouts specifically designed to target multiple muscle groups. Each workout is designed to have a mix and match quality whereby users can adapt new techniques and motions increasing intensity overtime. This allows users to progressively work up to their full workout potential.

Not only does it come with videos on how to do each exercise it also come with a 3 phase nutrition plan. The nutrition plan is designed to complement workouts and ensure users get all the nutrients they need to get their body into peak condition.

Find your sample of P90X by clicking here.

The P90x program provides all the tools for success. Users can track their progress with a professionally designed workout and nutrition calendar. It’s unlike any other program available due in part to its unique versatile workouts, nutrition guidance, and tracking abilities. The only thing required by the user is participation.

If your idea of a job is to wake up in the morning and put on a shirt and tie before you head into the office at 9 every day, you have a far too limited view of what it is to have a job. An office job is just the tip of the iceberg of potential careers you could enter. If being in a cubicle out of the sun isn’t for you, why not try pursuing one of these great careers in the great outdoors.

Park Ranger

If you work as a park ranger, you won’t ever have to worry about feeling cooped up – unless you’re exploring a cave, of course. Because park rangers don’t have offices, they just have the forest. When people staring at a computer screen wish they could get away from it all for a while, you’re exactly where they would want to go.

Spend your time doing research, observing animals and getting your Smokey Bear on. Because while he said “only you can prevent forest fires,” it’s your job to actually enforce that philosophy. And if you’re lucky, you might even make friends with some wacky animals who are always trying to steal pic-a-nic baskets from campers.

Park rangers: the police officers of nature!

Lifeguard

If you like being outdoors but prefer the beach to the mountains, why not consider a career as a lifeguard? While other people go to the beach for vacation, you’ll be there all the time. Just imagine getting paid to bask in the sun with a small strip of sunscreen across the bridge of your nose, as you sit atop your tower monitoring the safety of anyone who may succumb to the wrath of the majestic ocean.

And as you protect the masses from the dangers of the undertow and great white sharks, you can take comfort in one simple thought: while all of the beach bums leave their offices to come to the beach for vacation, you probably won’t ever decide to go visit an office cubicle on your day off.

Construction

But the great outdoors doesn’t necessarily have to be in the middle of the wilderness or near an ocean. The great outdoors starts as soon as you step out of a building. And what’s a better way to enjoy being outdoors than by building new places for people to be indoors?

Working construction can give you the chance to work with your hands, get some fresh air and stay in shape – all at the same time. There are a lot of places that would charge you to do all of that, so just imagine getting paid for it!

With the passing of the Credit CARD Reform Act, there are several changes being made to how the credit card industry is being regulated. These changes are intended to protect you, the consumer, but may actually create ways for credit card companies to take advantage of you against your will.

The following are ways that your credit card company could be taking money from you without telling you.

Advance Notice Limits Your Options

According to the new CARD Act, your credit card companies are required to give you 45 days’ advance notice before they make any significant changes to your account. What the law doesn’t say is that credit card companies have to let you keep your current rates. So your credit card companies could potentially raise your rates to extremely high amounts, giving you ample notice ahead of time.

If you don’t choose to accept those new rates, your credit card company can either allow you to continue using your existing rates until your card expires or just close the account entirely. And either way, you are still required to pay the entire balance in full.

Students Can Still be Targeted

Another part of the CARD Act that credit card companies have found a way to dance around are the limits to getting younger adults to sign up for cards. The CARD Act states that credit card companies can no longer open credit cards to college students without the written consent of a guardian.

In order to step around that blockage, many credit card companies are mailing credit card offers for college students to parents of college-aged children. Because if they’re offering the deals to parents instead of students they’re not breaking any rules, right?

Double-cycle Billing isn’t Completely Gone

A huge change brought by the CARD Act is the ending of double-cycle billing. Double cycle billing is when your credit card company calculates your interest based on the previous two billing cycles instead of just your current balance.

But unfortunately, while that practice is over and done with, you could still be receiving additional charges if you don’t have a grace period. A grace period is the time period when your credit card company allows you to avoid interest charges if you pay off your entire balance.

But if you don’t have a grace period, none of the new double-cycle billing rules apply, meaning nothing changes.

On February 22, 2010, our federal government enacted some of the biggest changes to credit card regulation that our country has ever seen. With the passing of the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009, or CARD Act, several changes have been made to protect you and the hundreds of thousands of other credit card holders in the United States.

Rate Increases

Beginning on August 20, 2009, credit card companies will only be able to increase the rates on existing balances under limited conditions. Now, changes can only be made when a promotional rate ends or after a customer misses a payment by 60 days or more. Additionally, if rates are increased do to a missed payment, the original rates must be restored if the cardholder makes payments on time for six consecutive months.

Advance Notice of Rate Changes

Also beginning August 2009, credit card companies must give cardholders 45 days notice before contract changes take effect. Prior to changes, only 15 days notice was required.

Payment Time

The third provision beginning August 2009 is that Card companies must send statements at least 21 days before a payment is due.

Fee Restrictions

The new law requires that payments received on the dude date or on the next business day not be allowed to incur a late fee. If cardholders choose to pay fees at a local branch, they must be credited the same day.

Billing Cycles

The credit CARD ACT bans the practice of basing finance charges on the current and previous balance, known as double-cycle billing. This way credit card companies will no longer be allowed to charge interest on debt already paid the previous month.

If you own a car, chances are that you feel like you’re shelling out way too much to your auto insurance company every month. And with rates seemingly increasing every day, it probably feels like you’re never going to find relief from skyrocketing bills. But the truth is that you could be lowering your auto insurance bills just by doing something you would anyway.

A simple way to lower your auto insurance rates is just by not getting into accidents. If you think about it, car accidents are essentially the main reason why auto insurance exists in the first place. It’s at least the main reason why you’re legally required to have it.

Auto insurance guarantees that you will be financially able to pay for the damages done to your car, or even someone else’s car, as well as hospital bills that are a result of a car accident. So it makes perfect sense that if you don’t get into car accidents, auto insurance companies will be more willing to insure your vehicle.

By proving to your auto insurance company that you are a responsible, accident-free driver, you show them that you are worth their investment. After you go several months or years without getting into a car accident, many car companies will reward you by lowering your rates.

You can check with your current auto insurance provider to see if you receive rewards for not getting into accidents. If after you contact them you learn that you aren’t being rewarded, it might be a good idea to look into switching to a more affordable and beneficial auto insurance company.

There are several auto insurance companies online that can help you compare your current rates to other companies and allow you to see what kind of rewards you could be getting just for protecting your own safety and automobile.

Do you wish you were healthier and in better shape? Chances are that you do. But as much as you may hope to improve your physical fitness, thinking about it is a whole lot easier than actually doing it. A key part of making a change in your health is to make a change in your diet.

The four foods contained in this list are easy to add to your everyday diet and can help you make big strides towards becoming a healthier you.

Oats

Oats should be a part of your daily diet every day because they are the only food approved by the FDA to prevent heart disease. Eating the soluble fiber in oats can make your arteries more flexible, which lowers your blood pressure and protects against heart disease.

Oats are also complex carbohydrates that can slow down how quickly sugar is released into your bloodstream. By slowing this process, your body can use the fuel you eat to get energy for longer periods of time, allowing you to burn energy more efficiently and build more muscle.

Black Beans

Another great food you should try incorporating into your daily diet is the black bean. Found in everything from soup to Chipotle burritos, black beans are low-calorie, high in fiber and free of heart disease promoting saturated fats.

What’s even more is that black beans are full of vital antioxidants. In particular, black beans are rich in anthocyanins – special antioxidants that can improve your brain’s functionality.

Acai berries

Acai berries are the fruit of the Acai palm, which grows in the tropical climate of Brazil. Acai berries are packed full of essential vitamins and are so healthy that they are even sold as a dietary supplement.

Acai berries contain more antioxidants more than almost any other fruit known to man. I fact, they are so full of antioxidants and vitamins that they can help your body fight off disease and stay healthier longer.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are yet another food that you should try and eat every day. These fruits – not vegetables – contain lycopene, an antioxidant that can protect against cancers in the stomach, bladder, lungs and skin. And as an added bonus, tomatoes also protect against heart disease.

Tomatoes contain more antioxidants when eaten raw, so leave them uncooked in order to get the maximum health value.

Do you know what your most valuable possession is in the year 2010? You may be surprised at the answer.

It isn’t your home, your car or anything you bought at the store. It also isn’t your job, even though you are fortunate to have one in these rough economic times. The answer isn’t even something metaphoric like your friends, family or health.

No, the most valuable thing you own is you. All of the things that make you who you are have become some of the most valued items in existence. And there are countless people who want to take them from you.

Identity theft has been around for ages, but in today’s digital world it has never been easier. Nearly all monetary transactions pass through a computer these days. Whether you’re paying bills through your banking website, doing some chopping online or just buying groceries with a credit card, your personal information is being transmitted all over the world, just waiting for someone to steal it.

After stealing your personal information, identity thieves can use it to do all sorts of things that could damage your life and financial stability. It goes beyond just using your credit card to buy things, too. With your social security number and banking information, an identity thief could potentially use your credit rating to open new credit cards, apply for loans or even empty your personal savings.

In order to protect your identity online, be sure to only use sites that you trust and never leave personal information like your social security number, passwords or PIN in places that others can find them. There are countless resources online that can help you plan more ways to protect yourself from identity theft.
